Tim Burton’s magical and imaginative “Alice in Wonderland” is inspired by Lewis Carroll’s beloved “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” and “Through the Looking-Glass” and is brought to the big screen in ground-breaking Disney Digital 3D™ and features stunning avant-garde visuals.
The film sees Alice embarking on a fantastical journey to find her true destiny and end the Red Queen’s reign of terror and marks a return to Disney for director Tim Burton (“The Nightmare Before Christmas,” “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street,” “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”).
Incorporating characters, story elements and the central themes from both of Carroll’s books, Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland” features a new adventure as 19-year-old Alice returns to Wonderland for the first time since she was a child with no memory of her previous adventures there.
Director Tim Burton decided to shoot the film in 2D and convert it later to 3D. Burton was so impressed with the results of the conversion of his film “The Nightmare Before Christmas” to 3D, he opted to go a similar route for “Alice.” The film uses acombination of live action, animation and a host of other effects techniques, including motion capture technology.
Alice in Wonderland is released across the UK on March the 5, 2010 on 2D, Disney Digital 3D and IMAX® 3D screens. The DVDV will be available to own March 30, 2010.
